Service Involvement

Volunteer 20011 - 2013
At Spokane River Keeper, I was involved with the annual river cleanup project.  I assisted coordinating and training volunteers, as well as documenting the event and posting it on social media outlets.  The Spokane River is a treasure for the city of Spokane and assisting in protecting this natural wonder was a very rewarding experience.  This experience was very educational both on the ecology of the river itself, but I also learned a great deal about the inner workings of a non-profit organization.

At Spokane Public Library, I volunteered for the Friends of the Library book sale to raise money for the library system.  This project meant a lot to me, as I think the library is an important resource in our community and I enjoyed going there so much as a child.  I also appreciate the fact that book are not just thrown away, but through the book sale are sent off to new homes where they will be appreciated and read for years to come.009

The Chase Youth Commission is a voice for the youth in Spokane County. They provide a positive environment to collaborate with young people and empower them to become leaders. The CYC is a regional organization, supported by the citizens of the City of Spokane and Spokane County through inter-local agreement.
